How to Keep Flannelette Sheets Free of Fluff

Are you not sure how to keep your flannelette sheets fluff-free? This is the article that will help you with.

In the cold nights of winter, flannelette sheets are perfect for comfort. This fabric is warm and soft because of its special design. Flannel has brushed fibers; this makes many air pockets in the fabric and thus makes it good for winter. People who use cheap flannelette sheets often complain about lint, but the expensive ones also produce it. That’s not a trouble and they can easily be rubbed off. Here given are the ways by which you can remove lint from your king size fitted sheet and fitted bed sheets. These preventive measures can help you a lot.

Use A Lint Roller

It is one simple way to remove lint. It is kind of a sticky paper roll present on the handle. It can remove lint from the fabric that is not even visible. Before washing the flannel sheets, run the roller on them. This will not allow lint to be built at the first place in the washing machine. If you also own flannel pillowcases, you can run the lint roller on it too. If you don’t own a lint roller, you can use a package tape. Wrap it around your finger in a way that sticky side is on the outside. Run your wrapped finger over a fabric to make this technique work same as lint roller.

Wash Same Together

Wash flannel sheets together; this way the lint from them will not stick on your other fabrics. Before laundering, shake the sheets well; this will remove any dust and other fiber attached to it. Also, lint filter of the washing machine should be checked often because it collects lint and if clogged, lint will not remove but stick on the sheets.

Use of Vinegar

Flannelette sheets can also be washed using vinegar as it helps in preventing pilling from fabric sheets and also allows the sheet to keep its dye, doing this in the start when the flannelette sheets are new will help them keep their dye and softness. Adding about one or half cup of vinegar to wash sheets instead of them washing in washing machine with detergents will make the sheets fuzz and lint free.

Wash with Cold or Warm Water

Some manufacturers recommend using cold water to let the sheets keep their quality and forbid using hot water as it can wear out the sheets. You can also use warm water to wash sheets but no hot water at all.
